Beautiful Location

Last updated August 21, 2017

How do you show off the beauty of a place?

I’ve been to many programming conferences and one thing I am tired of are the boring venues. I’m tired of looking at grey, carpeted walls. I know there are good reasons for doing things at a hotel, but I couldn’t imagine inviting people to New Orleans just to be at a big box hotel. I wanted the location to be an important part of the conference.

Last weekend I was in the French Quarter and decided to take the time to show off the wonderful location I have booked for Clojure SYNC. Short of being there, there’s really no better way to explain it than with a video. My daughter was a big help getting this footage and she makes a brief appearance.

And please be warned: there is jazz!

Oh, and the video lies. Tickets are on sale now!
