Travel

Arriving by air

You should book into the Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY).

You can take a taxi ($36 + tip) from the airport to your hotel. These can be shared. Please note that if you are staying in the Marigny or beyond, there may be an extra charge.

Shuttles are available to many hotels. There are wheelchair-accessible options.

Please see this page for more information about getting to and from the airport.

Arriving by car

I-10 goes right through the city. You probably won’t need the car while you’re in the French Quarter. If you don’t want to pay for parking, I suggest parking in the Marigny (a neighboring residential area) and walking or taxiing in.

Arriving by bus

Greyhound and Megabus service New Orleans. The bus station is a quick street car ride ($1.25) from the French Quarter.

Arriving by train

Amtrak services New Orleans. The trains are usually more expensive than flying and are definitely slow. However, they are pretty fun. The train station is a quick street car ride ($1.25) from the French Quarter.
